Iona: Nunnery Window

Iona's nunnery is one of that island's beautiful and ancient structures. But while the abby, associated with St. Columba, has over the years been repaired and restored, the Augustinian nunnery remains in ruin.

I spent as much time meditating within the ruins of the nunnery as I did in the Abby and thought much about the suggestion that the nunnery's state is symbol of our faith's ruined femininity.

The suggestion was Joh Philip's and I'm letting it hang out there for a bit.
